Summary: Our recent stay at the Mercure Hotel in Nadi, Fiji, was marked by both positive and disappointing aspects. The property enjoys a highly convenient location, with easy access to the airport, shops, and other key amenities. The hotel staff were courteous, attentive, and accommodating throughout our stay, which we sincerely appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall experience was significantly impacted by ongoing issues with the air-conditioning system. From the first day of check-in, the rooms were noticeably warm and uncomfortable. Despite thermostat settings between 18–20°C, the actual room temperature remained consistently above 25°C. Throughout our five-day stay, multiple reports and follow-ups were made to the supervisory and management team. Maintenance staff attended promptly on several occasions and attempted various adjustments; however, the issue could not be resolved. All members of our group, who were staying in separate rooms, experienced the same problem. One guest even chose to check out within an hour of arrival due to the excessive heat. It is strongly recommended that management prioritise upgrading the chiller units or reviewing the air-conditioning infrastructure to ensure rooms meet acceptable comfort standards. Addressing this concern would greatly enhance guest satisfaction and uphold the quality expectations associated with the Mercure and Novotel brands.
