From the iconic Heritage Building built in 1902 to the modern-designed rooms in the new annexes, the KGH has always been at the top of restoration and upgrading every year. Being in the heart of Thamel, the KGH is known as a landmark, as it was the KGH that started the tourist hub of Thamel. Within the compounds of KGH, luscious 15,000 sq. ft. of manicured garden with mango, pomelo, multicolored bougainvillea trees & well curated art, you can enjoy solitude, laughter with friends, or the sun with a cold drink or a hot cup of Himalayan coffee. With the recent opening of the Museum of Nepali Art (MoNA) and the Kathmandu Art House within its premises, the Kathmandu Guest House (KGH) stands as one of the very few hotels in the world to house a world-class museum. MoNA is dedicated to celebrating the works of living Nepali artists, spanning the spectrum from traditional to contemporary visual arts. Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Art House offers a vibrant open studio experience where guests can meet artists in action, engage with their creative process, and purchase original artworks on the spot.
